The city is stuck managing symptoms.
New Orleans faces interlocking challenges: economic stagnation, population loss, infrastructure strain, climate exposure, blight, unequal opportunity, and civic fragmentation. Too often, each is addressed separately.
What breaks down
Good ideas should not have to compete for scarcity.
A pilot ends without scale. A plan is written without implementation. Community insight is gathered without becoming real influence. Good ideas compete for limited resources rather than building shared capacity.
The city lacks a connected pathway from challenge to implementation.
Meaningful change is often discussed - but rarely delivered at the scale the moment demands.
